Decline in worker performance and increased risk of occupational accidents, particularly in outdoor work or in stuffy enclosed environments.
Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun or overheated urban areas, strictly maintain hydration with increased intake of non-alcoholic beverages (including mineral replenishment), avoid higher physical/mental loads, ventilate only during cooler parts of the day (usually early morning). Seek medical help in case of health problems. Do not leave children or animals in parked vehicles. Set air conditioning in rooms or vehicles so that the body is not exposed to excessive thermal shock when moving in or out; the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures should not exceed 5 to 8 °C.
